Working with a collaborative design-build team led by ARCO Design/Build, Dudley Engineering provide structural engineering services for the 3-story, 100,000+ SF climate-controlled self storage facility in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Besides the inherent challenges of being located in a hurricane zone, the structural design for this project also utilizes a mat foundation in lieu of conventional continuous spread footings. Dudley Engineering utilized the finite-element software program SAFE to analyze and design the mat slab based upon the subgrade modulus for the building pad.
